Telit’s WE310F5 Evaluation Board (EVB) was designed to help engineers, programmers, and developers rapidly prototype Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) IoT applications. Mounting the WE310F5-I/P module, the WE310F5 EVB boasts the following key features:

  • Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE5) connectivity
  • Low-cost, high-speed serial-to-wireless connection to an MCB over UART, SPI and SDIO interface

WE310F5-I/P Evaluation Board Variants

The WE310F5 EVB offers a complete development environment featuring embedded IoT software and hardware to help reduce development time from weeks and months down to hours. Offering two variants, the WE310F5-I (built-in antenna) and WE310F5-P (SMA connector for external antenna), the IoT development kit offers flexibility for both large and compact applications.

WE310F5-I EVB Supports Size-Constrained Devices

The WE310F5-I includes a built-in 2.4 GHz antenna to support size, power, and cost-constrained IoT devices. As the demand for compact IoT devices continues to increase, an internal antenna solution is the optimal choice. Design engineers must be aware of factors such as ground plane size, enclosure material, and PCB proximity when working with internal antennas. 

WE310F5-P EVB Delivers Maximum Range and Sensitivity

The WE310F5-P offers an SMA connector to integrate an external antenna. For designs that are not limited to size or form factor, an external antenna solution is ideal. External antennas are performance stable and easier to implement. Additionally, external antennas are typically ground plane independent and offer greater ranger and sensitivity.
