LOS ANGELES and MINNETONKA, Minn., May 24, 2016 – Symmetry Electronics, a global distributor specializing in the distribution of wireless and video embedded semiconductor products, and Digi International®, (NASDAQ: DGII, www.digi.com), a leading global provider of mission-critical machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT connectivity products and services, today announced a global distribution agreement. As a result of this new agreement, design engineers around the world now have access to the full range of Digi’s cellular, embedded, RF, network and wireless design services through Symmetry Electronics’ entire global network.

Symmetry Electronics, founded in 1998, is the only global authorized distributor focusing exclusively on the sale, technical support and distribution of wireless, video and embedded semiconductor products. Symmetry’s expertise in connecting engineers to the right technology allows customers to save time and money by getting their design projects up and running quickly.

Digi provides wireless M2M connectivity that delivers the reliability, scalability, security and bulletproof performance needed to build and deploy critical infrastructures in challenging environments. Digi’s M2M products include embedded system-on-modules; RF products, including XBee® modules, gateways, modems, adapters, range extenders and sensors; Digi Transport® cellular gateways/routers; and Rabbit modules and single-board computers.

“Digi’s strong embedded lineup of RF modules and cellular solutions fits perfectly with Symmetry’s wireless focus,” said David Beck, vice president of marketing, Symmetry Electronics. “Digi’s world-renowned brand for delivering reliable and proven systems is a powerful complement to Symmetry's technical sales support for IoT technologies.”

“As one of the world’s most specialized global distributors of wireless, video, embedded semiconductor products and wireless design services, we’re excited to make our product line and services available to Symmetry’s network of sales engineers,” said Richard Halliday, Digi’s vice president of channel sales and alliances.
