LM940 supports 600 Mbps downlinks and 75 Mbps uplinks and provides new connectivity options for remote/branch office applications such as SD-WAN networking

ME910C1-AU certification gives Australian businesses and integrators their first opportunity to leverage Telstra’s new NB-IoT network

London, November 20, 2018 – Telit, a global enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that Telstra has certified the LM940, its first 600 Mbps LTE Category 11 data card, and the ME910C1-AU IoT module for use on its new NB-IoT. The two certifications give Australian enterprises, integrators and service providers the ability to immediately leverage Telstra’s next-generation NB-IoT, LTE-M and LTE Cat 11 networks for mobile and fixed IoT applications such as connected vehicles and smart utility grids.

“The certifications of the LM940 and the ME910C1-AU are the latest examples of how Telit’s close relationship with Telstra gives Australian enterprises, integrators and service providers access to the latest and greatest LTE and IoT technologies,” said Steven Mitchel, Telit Senior Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand. “Telit is the go-to module provider for Telstra network service launches because we have deeper knowledge of next-generation cellular technologies than regional IoT providers.”

LM940 LTE Category 11 mPCIe Data Card

With support for up to 600 Mbps downlinks and 75 Mbps uplinks, the Telit LM940 is ideal for enterprises that want to use Telit’s network for primary or backup connectivity for routers, gateways and other bandwidth-intensive applications at their remote/branch offices. The LM940 features a mini PCIe form factor and support for all LTE Cat 11 capabilities for maximum performance and reliability. It also supports 20 LTE bands providing maximum deployment flexibility. The LM940 module boasts a power-efficient platform and is the ideal solution for commercial and enterprise applications in the network appliance and router industry, such as branch office connectivity, LTE failover, digital signage, kiosks, pop-up stores, vehicle routers, construction sites and more. The module includes Linux and Windows driver support.

ME910C1-AU NB-IoT/LTE-M IoT Module

In January 2018, Telit’s quad-band, dual-mode ME910C1-AU became the first module from any vendor to receive LTE Cat M1 certification for operation on Telstra’s mobile network. Today’s NB-IoT certification gives integrators, providers and other companies an added opportunity to take advantage of Telstra’s pioneering next-generation LTE networks in the region.

The ME910C1-AU module is a member of Telit’s best-selling xE910 family and can easily be applied as a pin-to-pin replacement for existing devices based on the family’s modules for 2G, 3G, LTE Categories 1, 3 and 4. With the company’s design-once-use-anywhere philosophy, developers can cut costs and development time by simply designing for the xE910 LGA common form factor, giving them the freedom to deploy technologies best suited for the application’s environment. The ME910C1-AU also features optimized power consumption and optional quad-constellation GNSS support capabilities.

Industries that demand lower costs, security and extended product lifecycles now have more options with the Telit ME910C1-AU. The longevity of the LTE Cat M1 and NB1 standards, and extensive feature set make it an ideal solution for new and existing applications in vertical segments like telematics, smart energy and metering, asset tracking, retail, point-of-sale, security and surveillance, industrial control and automation, smart home, and smart buildings.

The ME910C1-AU and the LM940 also are either banded for use globally or have sibling products. As a result, Australian IoT device manufacturers can simply re-use their designs for the ME910C1-AU and the LM940 when developing products for export.
