Symmetry Supplier NimbeLink Wins the 2016 IoT Tekne Award Which Acknowledges the Skywire™ Line of IoT Modems Enabling Customers’ Rapid Connectivity to the Fast-growing Internet of Things
The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named NimbeLink as the recipient of the 2016 Tekne Award in the IoT award category. Held November 16 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, the Tekne Awards honor companies and individuals who have played a significant role in developing new technologies that positively impact the lives and futures of people around the world.
Connectivity is essential to the Internet of Things, and the cellular network stands alone among IoT connectivity options for ease of access, safety, and nearly-worldwide availability. NimbeLink is a rapid IoT solutions company dedicated to taking the complexity out of cellular data communication. The company creates sophisticated, application-specific devices providing cellular access for developers of IoT products.
“We are honored to receive this award,” said NimbeLink CTO Kurt Larson, “but our greatest reward is the recognition we’ve received from customers who are bringing new products to market and driving the explosive growth of the Internet of Things.”
The company’s Skywire line includes a full range of the industry’s smallest embedded modems along with development kits, software libraries, and adapters and capes for connection to microprocessors. This “development ecosystem” lets developers quickly design, test, and market new products.
“Minnesota continues to be a national leader in technology and science, and this year’s Tekne Award recipients are clear evidence of that,” said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, president and CEO of MHTA. We are honored to recognize NimbeLink for their innovations and achievements.”Cellular networks have been changing rapidly to meet the requirements of IoT applications, and NimbeLink’s mission is to offer customers the quickest, easiest way to build cellular access into their products and bring those products to market ahead of the competition. NimbeLink was the first to offer the IoT-specific LTE Cat 1 modem. The company is about to release a next generation LTE Cat M1 cellular modem, which will access a cellular technology that will be available in 2017. NimbeLink’s speedy rollout of new products lets developers take advantage of emerging cellular technology as quickly as it is offered by cellular service providers.
NimbeLink is the innovation leader in embedded cellular technology for today’s machine-to-machine and Internet of Things solutions. Our award-winning Skywire™ modems and related software and services enable OEM customers to easily develop end-device certified IoT solutions for faster time to market.
