Realtek has announced the availability of a new version of its High Definition Audio package, namely 6.0.1.8018, which might include small improvements regarding stability, performance, as well as sound quality.
Similar to earlier audio packages, the present release is provided by Microsoft on its Windows Update Catalog, and the available .cab file formats are compatible with the 32- and 64-bit architectures of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Anniversary Edition platforms.
If you intend to upgrade to this release make sure your system OS is supported, and save and extract the downloadable cabinet (.cab) package on an accessible location such as your desktop.
Afterward, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade, go to Device Manager, select the hardware device you want to update, and choose “Update Driver Software.”
