These are Silicon Labs ZigBee® lighting reference designs that include hardware, firmware, and software tools for the wireless radio. The kits provide both the lighting board as well as a plug-in demo board that is suitable for quick demonstration as well as testing purposes.

These ZigBee lighting reference designs are robust, scalable, and feature-rich. The Golden-unit ZigBee stack allows the lights to reliably join, interoperate and leave a network; as well as scale from a few to a couple of hundreds of lights on the same network. The lights can support white, temperature and RGB color settings, and dimming functionality. The lights can easily bind to other home automation devices such as the Dimmable Capacitive Touch Light Switch Reference Design via a ZigBee Gateway such as the USB Virtual Gateway or the Wi-Fi/Ethernet Gateway.

The Mighty Gecko family of SoCs is ideal for designing energy-friendly wireless connected IoT devices. Part of the Wireless Gecko portfolio, the Mighty Gecko is the superset part and supports 2.4 GHz and Sub-GHz protocols, including ZigBee, Thread, BLE, and Silicon Labs Connect stack for 2.4 GHz, as well as Sub-GHz for proprietary protocols and the Connect stack. The single-die solution provides industry-leading energy efficiency, ultra-fast wakeup times, a scalable power amplifier, and no-compromise MCU features. The devices are well suited for battery operated application as well as other systems requiring high performance and low energy consumption.
